Cail & Fletcher heavy duty vertical shredder
The heavy duty vertical shredder prepares the cane before sugar extraction. It conditions the energetic performance of the whole plant and maximizes sucrose recovery.
Only heavy duty swing hammer type shredders can consistently achieve 90+ % PI. This is done with efficient energy conversion and minimum wear.
The casing is substantially ribbed to provide a rigid support for the rotor bearings and can also be arranged to carry a set of knives or a feed distributor on the rotor. The anvil is hinged and located in such a way that tramp iron and even large rocks and stones will pass with no major damage to the rotor and hammers.
Maximum sucrose extraction
The shredding action of this equipment exposes more fiber particles and ruptures more sucrose bearing cells than knifing alone. This allows the mill or diffuser extraction process to maximize the removal of the sugar juice from the prepared cane.
This also increases the bulk density of the prepared cane thereby increasing the capacity of the extraction plant. Absorbed power by milling or dewatering mills is reduced.
